History

     CGU was found in 1925, is America’s only graduate-only research-extensive university. It is located 35 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles. CGU’s academics schools and departments provides Ph.Ds and Master degrees. IT has around 2,200 students with more than 200 professors in 23 subjects.

In addition to Bachelors degrees in Political Science, History, and French from Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Abdollahian holds a Master’s degree in Foreign and Defense Policy and a Ph.D. in Political Economy and Mathematical Modeling from Claremont Graduate University.

  1. Yi Feng is the Luther Lee Jr. Memorial Chair in Government at Claremont Graduate University where he served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (2006-2011) and Dean of School of Politics and Economics (2003-2006). He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political

  2. His areas of concentration are international political economy, public policy analysis, and quantitative methodology. His professional service includes the General Program Chair, organizing the International Studies Association Annual Conference (Hawaii, 2004-05) and Editor of International Interactions, a premier journal in international studies (2001-2005).

  3. He has published on China’s financial markets, labor and human capital, economic growth, state enterprises, foreign direct investment, and trade policy. His book, Democracy, Governance and Economic Performance: Theory and Evidence (MIT, 2003, 2005) has been cited as “notable for its broad scope, its thorough grounding in empirical evidence and for the insights it offers into complex social processes. This is interdisciplinary research at its best” (Eirik G. Furubotn 2003). (with a PR of 3:13:20 at the Boston Marathon, 2008) and a certified rescue diver, he sublimates through running on mountain trails and diving in the Pacific Ocean.

  1. He founded the Sentia Group Inc. dedicated to the formal study of decision making, policy analysis and advice.  He has been a consultant to the IMF, the World Bank, State Department, Department of Defense and a number of U.S agencies and private businesses.  His research was funded among others by NSF, DARPA, and the Ford Foundation.

  2. Though extensive publications on the causes and consequences of war, he has forged a reputation for innovative formal modeling and empirical analysis.  His extensions of the theory of power transition explain the initiation of World War I and II and account for peaceful relations among major powers during the Cold War.

  3.  His work anticipated the danger of nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorists.  His work on political demography disclosed the important role played by political factors. His analysis shows that political capability motivates declines in mortality and then fertility and precedes economic growth.

  4. He is a founder of the TransPacific Consortium that brings together a group of West Coast Universities and scholars that will provide systematic, unbiased and empirically supported insight into the changing international politics.th.

Dr. Hal Nelson

     His research interests include international political economy, climate policy, civic engagement, and decision making. He is a former member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where he developed and executed arbitrage and risk management strategies for institutional investors. He is a senior advisor to the Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) for Residential, Commercial and Industrial, power supply and helps US states develop climate action plans to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases Nelson is also a co-principal for Sustainable Energy Modeling Project (SEMPro) and is creating an online map for the SoCal Energy Infrastructure Project.

Dr. Eunyoung Ha

     Her research areas include comparative politics, political economy, and political institutions. Her primary research interest involves the impact of globalization and domestic political institutions on domestic political economy, in particularly as manifested in the following areas: inequality, poverty, growth, unemployment, inflation, welfare spending, and taxation. She received her Ph. D. from the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2007. In her dissertation, “Distributive Politics in the Era of Globalization,” she explains how globalization and government ideology have shaped income distribution in terms of welfare, inequality, and poverty. She currently studies the impact of globalization and government ideology on aspects of economic performance such as economic growth, unemployment, and inflation and how these impacts are different between developed and less developed countries.
